Grinch or Santa?

I am most definitely for  the practice of celebrating the Christmas Holiday inside the classroom because...

1. If there wasnt christmas partys in the classrooms anymore kids would be dissapointed and wonder why they are taking christmas away cause its such a great holiday. 
2. Having santa come to the class makes such an amazing moment for the students and I understand some people dont beleive but if they dont like the fact of celebrating christmas they dont have to be in the U.S.
3. Most people are belivers of jesus and know what the meaning of christmas is and it may be very disturbing to some children that we are not celebrating christmas in schools anymore because at home there parents are probably all about christmas.

American Teacher

• After watching American Teacher my impression was a little worried and stressed just because of how much teachers really do. The view of my profession might have changed a little bit for the worst because it makes me a little scared that I wont be able to handle it and I wont know what to do.
• I think their biggest frustration would have been having to use there own money to buy supplies for the class and having so many students in each class.
• I think ways teaching conditions could improve is by having better teachers that are really going to work hard to help students pass and not coaches teaching students because they don't seem to care much about students grades.

Why Do Students Procrastinate?

• Poor Time Management. Procrastination means not managing time wisely. You may be uncertain of your priorities, goals and objectives. You may also be overwhelmed with the task. As a result, you keep putting off your academic assignments for a later date, or spending a great deal of time with your friends and social activities, or worrying about your upcoming examination, class project and papers rather than completing them.

This mostly relates to me because I always make up a reason as to why I should not do my assignments even if I have lots of time to finish it and get it turned in. I obviously procrastinate seeing as though this blog is a week late and I had plenty of time in class to finish it. 

 

•  How to overcome procrastinating.
• Discipline yourself to use time wisely: Set priorities.

I will now try to use my time wisely instead of just sitting there doing nothing. Im going to make myself do it even if I really don't want to. I will just keep telling myself, if I do it now I wont have to do it later. 

If I could change education I would...

    If I could change education I would make it to where students are able to be in classes that allows them to learn the way they can be successful because not everyone can learn the way they teach. So I would make it to where there were different classes for each different learning styles. I would also make many group assignments so everyone can help each other out.

This week my students are learning about sound waves and how light bends to form a rainbow. 

Good ideas for my first lesson:

 6C:explore the uses of energy, including mechanical, light, thermal, electrical, and

          sound energy.

 6C:Demonstrate that light travels in a straight line until it strikes an object or travels

       through one medium to another and demonstrate that light can be reflected such as the

       use of mirrors or other shiny surfaces and refracted such as               the appearance of an object

       when observed through water.

 6D:Design an experiment that tests the effect of force on an object.

I think that one day everything in school will have to do something with technology. Each generation will get smarter and smarter. Technology is going to over power the world.

"Social Smarts"

       When reading this article it made me realize how dangerous Facebook, Twitter, and Google can really be. There are creeps all around the world and if you not careful they can find you. Even if you think thats the most ridiculous thing ever and that it could never happen to you. You should think twice because it can happen to anyone. You should always have "social smarts" because it could keep you out of trouble and  maybe even save your life.
