Parents!

  • Here is my response to Mrs. Stevens " What Teachers Want Parents to Know" blog!

  • I definitely consider teachers as professionals. Teachers are just as important as doctors and lawyers. If we didn't have teachers how would those doctors and lawyers know what          they do today? The answer is... they wouldn't. Its those teacher who taught them how to become a lawyer or doctor and encouraged them to never give up. It is okay for parents to question or second guess a teachers comment about their child when the teacher puts down their child or talks about them in a negative or harsh way. Students should take responsibility for their own actions when they know what they are doing is wrong or they disobeyed the teacher.
  • I don't think parents should allow their children to stay home if they have no reason to. If you child is tired, or grumpy, or had a bad night that shouldn't be a reason for them to stay home when they could be at school learning. Parents need to realize that every time they allow there child to skip school it puts the kid behind in there work.
  • Not taking responsibility for your own actions can affect your future tremendously. If you were too skip school without permission, missed your work for that day,  and never made up the work then you could end up failing a class. By you failing that class you just added another year in high school instead of graduating. It is VERY important for you to take responsibly for your own actions.
  • The time I failed and learned a valuable lesson was whenever I was supposed to go into work and never showed up. My manager was extremely mad and suspended me for a week which meant I made no money. That day I learned to always check my schedule and write down all of the days I work so I wont  have to suffer the consequences of not having money for a week.

Creativity Counts!

In response to Mrs. Stevens blog, Here are my thoughts on creativity:

What is Creativity?
Creativity is when someone is able to come up with something without looking it up online or cheating. Someone who is able to just have an idea just like that but in there own way of doing it. Weather it be through art, dancing, or sports.

Why does Creativity matter in Education?
Creativity matters in education because if you don't allow the students to learn in there own way and use there own creativity then they won't want to learn there just going to do enough to get by. But if students are able to do what they love and learn from it then its better and easier for both the students and the teachers.

How can we fix this?
One way we can fix this is by finding out each students favorite way of learning weather it be through art, computers, games, or even sports and allow each student to learn through each of there gifts. I think by doing this students grades will go up and they will enjoy learning and will want to go to school.

Appearance Counts!

In response to Mrs. Stevens blog, here are my thoughts on being professional:

Being professional is very important. Most teenagers think having tattoos all over your body is so cool. But in reality when that person with visible tattoos tries to get a job it will be extremely difficult for them. They will get turned down many times and most likely end up with a job at a fast food restaurant. Some fast food restaurants may even turn you down. When you are trying to get a job you should make sure you are dressed appropriately. NO hoochie skirts, cleavage showing, or 6 inch stiletto pumps. THAT IS NOT OKAY. First impressions are everything.
