Why do students procrastinate?

  •  Procrastination means not managing time wisely. You may be uncertain of your priorities, goals and objectives. You may also be overwhelmed with the task. As a result, you keep putting off your academic assignments for a later date, or spending a great deal of time with your friends and social activities, or worrying about your upcoming examination, class project and papers rather than completing them.
This mostly relates to me because I always make up a reason as to why I should not do my assignments even if I have lots of time to finish it and get it turned in. I obviously procrastinate seeing as though everything i have turned in this was late and I had plenty of time in class to finish it.

  •  How to overcome procrastinating:
  • Discipline yourself to use time wisely: Set priorities.
I will now try to use my time wisely instead of just sitting there doing nothing. Im going to make myself do it even if I really don't want to. I will just keep telling myself, if I do it now I wont have to do it later.

Virtual Field Trip!

I did my virtual field trip at the wax museum!

Field Trip!

One of the best field trips I have ever been on would have to be whenever I was in fifth grade and we went to medieval times. This field trip was memorable for me because, I really enjoyed everything about the place. We were able to get away from school for a day and just have fun.

Why I Want To Be A Teacher.

One of the main reasons i want to be a teacher is because of my 2nd grade teacher, Mrs.Oval.  She allowed us to not only learn what we needed to know but also taught us ho to have fun while doing it.

Also I enjoy children very much. I love how happy and excited they get about little things and how they look to you as an almighty god.

Ethical Dilemma!

I think mark should maybe ask the other kids to stop posting bad things about Christa and if they don't then he should go to a teacher and let them know what the children are doing even if it no longer makes him cool or part of "the group". The outcome of him telling the teacher and having the social bullying stopped would, yes would make him a nobody once again but also leaves him knowing that he did the right thing and he could also become friends with Christa and actually have a good, true friend rather than friends who bully others just to feel cool.

Planning Lessons!

One very informative website that I found is, Teachers.net. It allows teachers from every grade to find fun lessons that the students will enjoy and learn from. For instance one of the lessons on this website is for first through second graders; it is called Exploring the Ocean and it shows your different ways to teach the kids about the ocean while having fun.

Another website I found is, Lesson Plans for Teachers. It gives teacher creative ideas for lesson planning. One of the lesson I found on this website is called, Plan and make a road trip through your state, and it allows Students to become familiar with the geography of their state.

Next I found a website called Lesson Plans the Easy Way and it is a website that shows you how to make a easy lesson plan. It goes over the all the basic steps to making a lesson. If you are struggling on how to start a lesson and your not sure what to look for, this website is perfect for you.

what I learned from this video is that if I want to go out of state or if I by any chance move to a different school that is out of state it will be very difficult because each state has a different path to teaching credentials.

My Last Day at My Site School!

Here is my Animoto!

On the last day at my site school I gave all of my students a gift and just hung out with them. Each of them wrote me a sweet heartfelt note. I was extremely sad whenever it was time to leave and all of my kids begged me not to go. They all ran up to me and gave me a group hug. It was one of the happiest yet saddest moments this year.

Intern Experience!

When I started this year as my first time as an intern I was nervous, worried and excited all at the same time. Now that the year is over I'm a lot more confident in being a teacher and extremely excited about next year. Im definitely more into becoming a teacher and plan to get a younger age group next year. I think teaching is still for me because being with children and being able to form a relationship with them is truly amazing to me. I plan to get my kids a gift for the end of the year to show them I enjoyed there time.

What teachers want parents to know"

Teachers need parents to understand that they don't always have to punish there children for acting out they just simply need to work with them and talk to him like a human being instead of automatically spanking them or grounding them. Another thing is they can't expect the children to get good grades if there one of the reasons for there failure. If they tell there kid to just do the homework later because she has things to do and then they end up not being able to do it, thats the parents fault.

Parents as partners rather than prosecutors  means that parents need to work with there kids and help them with school work or whatever school oriented instead of hammering them with lectures and telling them there failures. They need to help them understand the assignment maybe the teacher didn't teach it well and the kid didn't understand, the parents should realize that and help them.

Classroom Rules!

The reason he placed so much importance on rule number one because being a family means you respect one another, being a family means you love one another, being a family means you trust one another. Saying your a family has so much more meaning to the students than just saying your a class.

The significance of rule number one as it applies in the classroom is the kids respecting, trusting, and loving one another. no fighting, no backstabbing, no hurting. All the students will feel safe and love by the teacher and really feel like family.

                         1. Respect others

                         2. No fighting
                         3. Be a family
                         4. Dont yell
                         5. Have fun

The High Cost of Education.

  1. I plan to put all my checks in a savings account and save up as much as I can. I also will apply for grants, scholarships, and student loans. My parents will help out as well.
  2. I think I have done a lot but certainly not enough I feel like I could work harder and make better grades because this year i have been slacking. I will most definitely work harder next year. NO PROCRASTINATION!
  3. No I have not applied for FASFA.
My thoughts on this article is a little worried about how much college is and how I'm going to become a teacher. Seeing how much college is I need to make sure I get a job so I can pay off all the loans from college.

Creativity Counts!

What is Creativity?
Creativity is when someone is able to come up with something without looking it up online or cheating. Someone who is able to just have an idea just like that but in there own way of doing it. Weather it be through art, dancing, or sports.
Why does Creativity matter in Education?
Creativity matters in education because if you don't allow the students to learn in there own way and use there own creativity then they won't want to learn there just going to do enough to get by. But if students are able to do what they love and learn from it then its better and easier for both the students and the teachers.

Digital Learning Tool

The way I could use the iPad in my class is by allowing the students to play different science games that refers to the lesson. They could also look up different definitions of the words that are in the lesson that they don't quite understand. This would make the kids interested in the lesson because its technology and its something new and fun. But at the same time they would be learning.

On February, 1st my teacher used her computer and put up a power point for the kids and she went over her lesson. She used colorful and interesting pictures on her power point to keep the kids interested. She also allowed kids to come up in front of the class and read the different slides to get them involved and the kids loved it.

Make It Happen in 2012!

How to Excel in High School
1. This semester im going to take notes even if my teachers don't require it. I will try to pick out the main ideas of what my teacher is saying. I will make the important points stand out using colored hi-liters or by underlining. This will help me because I will have all of the information I need for assignments or tests and be sure to pass easily.
2. This semester I will get all of my work done. NO MORE ZEROS!! The way I will succeed in this goal is to stop procrastinating and just do the work. I will no longer waste time by making up an excuse as to why I can't do the assignment. This will help me because I will no longer have to worry about zeros because my work will be finished on time.
3. This semester I will study before every test. I'm going to make sure I make time to study weather it be before or after school. Test grades are extremely important and they can damage your final grade if you fail. If I study before every test it will help me pass this semester.

The Ideal Classroom

The ideal classroom for me is kinda how the BCTL is, more relaxed. I would have many different posters up to help the kids out just in case they forget something. My class would not be chaotic or messy because it distracts the students and its not good for the teacher either. I would try to make  everything easy for the students to get to.
